Paul Bruneau is a full-blood Ojibway native and a member of the Mattagami First Nations Reserve.

He and his brother were adopted by Gaetan Bruneau and Nancy Command in 1984 and raised on a small farm in Ferguson's Falls.  Paul Bruneau is very proud of his native heritage and his adoptive parents always encouraged him in keeping his native heritage and traditions alive.  Bruneau is an accomplished native dancer and attends ceremonies and pow wows to participate and perform in costumes he made himself.  He excells in carving animals, people as well as abstract pieces.  He works with serpentine, marble, soapstone, ivory and deer and moose antler.
